What makes us happy?

What makes us happy? – The Sunday Talk

Guys, this week gonna be great. Why do I think that? Well, because I am in a good mood. And when I am in a good mood I only have positive thoughts in my head. Think about it.
Meanwhile, you are probably thinking, you are probably wondering “Omi, where on Earth are you? Is this a golf course? Are those people actually playing golf?”
Yes, this is a golf course and the Canon building is over there. And I am on my break. Why on Earth would I be working in zone one? Why?

People see me online riding my bike every single day. So today I had a very strange question on LinkedIn. Omi, what is the best motorcycle jacket? To this question, I’ve got two answers.

What is the best motorcycle jacket for protection?

When I was young the best motorcycle jacket was the one that made me look cool. Like a gangster. I was the man on the road. Nowadays the best motorcycle jacket is the one that gives me a lot of protection. And the one that makes me visible. Very, very – shall I repeat this one again – very visible on the road.

We live and we learn.

So let me tell you what I think. People always want more: more money, more fame, a better car, more organic visits. But nobody, absolutely nobody is asking the fundamental question. Do I deserve more? What have a done recently to deserve more? So let me give you my 3 steps to success. Or shall I say 3 steps to be happy?

  • Step One: Define your dreams. What do you really, really, really, really want? And what do you really, really, really, really need?
  • Step Two: What will it cost? Are you ready to pay the price? Are you ready to pay the price?
  • Step Three: What actions are required to get you there? It’s about time you get up and start moving your ass towards your goals.

Just had an interesting conversation with a client online and I realised that the ‘curse of wanting too much’ is absolutely everywhere.

  • We think that we need more food than we do so we overeat.
  • We think that we need more money than we do so we overwork.
  • And listen to this one. We think that we need more freedom than we do so we end up alone.

How much do you need to be happy?

How much?

Wait, wait, wait. Sometimes my boss would give me more money and I am happy. Sometimes I talk to a smart young person and I am happy. Sometimes my mother would cook my favourite dish. And I am happy.
This morning, this morning Catherine Pijevski was wearing my shirt. The shirt I’ve designed for her and I am happy. She literally made my day.

Catherine Pijevski

In my opinion, if your happiness depends on one single thing: oh, I want more money and I am miserable. Oh, I want a better car and I am miserable. Oh, I wanna lose weight. I am fat and I am miserable. If your happiness depends on one single thing in my personal opinion, my friend, you are in a very bad place. And let me also tell you…

Friday. The superhero of the workweek.

It’s Friday again! Hands up if you are ready to do something this weekend that you will regret. Go for it. You’ve got my blessing.

After last night came I came here to church to ask God for forgiveness. Jokes aside, if you don’t forgive yourself nobody else will!

You forgive yourself for every mistake and failure because you are trying to do the right thing

The Sunday Talk

Ok, it’s Sunday again so let’s be real for a minute. In the whole history of human mankind, we’ve never been richer, more connected, healthier, living longer – more and more and more of everything. Yet, it looks like the number of unhappy people out there is at its highest.

In recent research by the American Higher Education Research Institute, 70% of all graduates thought that happiness comes from money. 50% added to this fame. But let me be honest with you. 99.9% of all graduates will never be famous. 99.9% of all graduates will never be rich. But even the people who want to have money and wit the lottery become unhappy within just one year. people who win the lottery become unhappy within just one year.

It looks like when it comes to happiness we are all confused.com.

So what makes us happy?

Well from my personal life experience I can tell you that:

  • We can never be happy alone.
  • We can’t be happy all the time.
  • Very, very rarely material things bring true happiness to our life.

So what makes us happy?

Anyway next week I am going to Snowdonia where I am hoping to find some happiness. But you do come back here next week cause you’ve got the questions and I’ve got the answers.

Peace.
